Oooohhhhhh boooooooy, age in comics is… complicated. When Infinity Inc. started he was fresh out of college, so that would put him at around early to mid 20s. I’m not sure he’s aged at all since then. If he did I’d say he maybe MAYBE got to his early 30s by JSA.
This overall concept may be way too hard to figure out as I think over the same time period different characters have aged at different rates.
And while we’re on the topic of II, is it just me or is Fury underrated? I’d like to see more of her. Unlike Huntress there doesn’t have to more or less be one at a time to avoid confusion. And she has the potential to be a much larger part of the Wonder Woman fam. I hope she returns to comics and is in the Stargirl show. Maybe one even ignites the other?
"How old is Atom smasher?"
It depends on the story and the writer. I wouldn't put much thought on it.
Are you sure it was Atom Smasher who broke up with Stargirl? I ask this because Billy Batson dated Courtney for a brief while before he was forced to break up with her because even though he is fifteen his Captain Marvel self looks like an adult. I think if happened during JSA's Geoff Johns' run.
"is it just me or is Fury underrated? I’d like to see more of her."
I'd also like to see more of her, but DC typically doesn't know what to do with Wonder Woman's supporting cast. Since they are incapable of giving Donna and Cassie a bigger role in Diana's life I hold little hope for Lyta, especially since she was reimagined as Steppenwolf's daughter in the New 52.
Yes, Al had a thing with Courtney too. A bit earlier in JSA, if I recall.
He was late teens as Nuklon, knowing how this timeywimeyliney goes, he could be anywhere between 20 and 35.
Which Fury is underrated? Lyta was heavily retconned for COIE, then just shelved as a recluse housewife of Salem, and replaced with another version (Kosmatos). Still, both are better than New52 Fury.
I mostly meant the pre crisis Fury. She seemed sweet and chill. If only they could mix and match her into teams like the Batman Fam members. Same with the other WW supporting heroes. That often develops them as their own heroes. If only…
Pre Crisis Fury only really worked for Earth-Two, where Diana was no longer an active hero and pretty much all heroes had spawned a new generation. It wouldn't work in Earth-One, New Earth or Prime Earth. She's too young to have an adult daughter.
That’s why she’s from another earth, or the future or something! I know post flashpoint Earth 2 Diana’s daughter isn’t the same, but maybe she had another? As for the future, if Impulse could get a whole series, many guest appearances, spots on multiple teams, and tons of work with 3 flashes by coming to the present, the concept can’t be that far fetched for her to at the very least be sprinkled in here and there. It wouldn’t even have to change her persona as Paradise Island where she was raised doesn’t change much over time if at all.
The thing is, Impulse exists in a timeline where Barry and Iris have been a thing for decades. Diana hasn't been a thing for decades with anyone.
It only takes one time 😉.
I meant Pre-Crisis Fury, who like many other characters was screwed by Crisis on Infinite Earths tinkering with her backstory and her place in the mythos.
I agree she wouldn't work as an Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth character, but maybe she could be a refugee of another Earth like Power Girl.
Unfortunately, given the mess that New 52 Earth-2 and their characters became, as well as the mess known as Donna Troy, I don't trust DC to update the character right and to NOT screw her up again.
While I'll agree Earth 2: World's End (and the preceding few issues of E2 by Tom Taylor) was a bit of a mess, Society made up for it a bit in my opinion. It was a solid read, as long as one enjoyed it for what it was and didn't think of it in terms of having replaced a JSA title.
