If I remember A Bridge Too Far properly; both sides made some huge blunders either in the planning; or in not pushing the resulting advantage. But then there were no DMs at the time for instant communication.
Point being: If Scott Snyder’s Batman was in Arnhem in 1944; who would have taken advantage of every failure and single-handedly won WWII? 🤔 hmmm
Easy to joke from Canada. North America benefitted bigtime from WWII; but paid relatively little of the cost.
And Retro Joker prolly doesn’t have much (or any) living family who served in WWII. We older generation would, and Tupka - you live where these battles were fought. For this generation, history just comes from books. You might as well talk about the Boer War or the US invasion of the Phillipines. (Or the Canadian-lead direct assault on the Whte House in 1813. Still the only country to do so!)
I had that crazy uncle that would get blitzed at Xmas and tell us about horrendous things he did in WWII Italy.
These days, history is that thing on the History Channel in between episodes of Ancient Aliens.
If i go too far; or too far off topic i’ll take this down.
