Vandal Savage is an immortal, hyper-intelligent Neanderthal. Simon Stagg is assisted by an educated caveman named Java. Did either of these wicked Cavemen know each other? And are there any other criminal Cave-folk out there?
Now *this* is a question to W84N8. The database gives Gnarrk’s age as ‘millions’ of years old. It *does* feel more realistic for Java and Gnarrk to have ‘history’ together, but they are still from different eras in different regions of the world; despite them both being ‘Stone Age’.
Aha. King Kull from Captain Marvel and also one of the early Crisises.
If I can include good guys then add dc.wikia.com/wiki/Kong_(New_Earth) the Untamed. He’s more recent than Vandal or Java, since he’s a Cro-Mag (very early European). He couldn’t have met King Kull though, since Kull is from Earth-S. No fun.
But bad Cavemen? Pick up a Kong. I only grabbed one since Wrightson did the cover for #1. But Alcala’s detailed art grew on me. Wiki needs synopsis and characters for Kong the Untamed, if anyone wants to beat me to it.
Garn. And Gnarrk? Weird how they sound similar. Same guy? But then the characters might pre-date spoken language. One million years ago, maybe everything was a Garn, or an Arrgg, or a Kaaaaahh, or a Gnarrk. Originally “Gnarrk” was just something the caveman said, wasn’t it?
Good history N8. It makes me think of GoT and the names they give the bastards, like John Snow. It does become his name, but ‘Gnarrk’ just indicates a guy from the past; so ‘John Gnarrk’ naturally would be his name.
