There are olny 6 options for the polls lol
And i would have included Simon Baz before Batman. Even Kilowog and G'Nort. Batsy is just an honorary member and, as far as i'm concerned, he's never been a GL in the main continuity
Lmao
Hal Jordan.
You may give thanks to "Green Lantern: Rebirth" for it. I had heard about other Green Lanterns before but I didn't care who was the main/greatest/whatever Green Lantern. Geoff Johns' mini-series made me a Hal fan.
Geoff's GL is probably one of the best GL runs ever
Geoff is probably one of the best writers ever
True, apart from resetting the entire continuity and destroying every tipe of preexistent legacy lol
Shhhhh
N52s not entirely his fault. Most of it goes to the other guy whos nane I forgot. Johns didnt even reset anything for GL. And Morrison kept a lot for Bats
Never digged into those facts, i just know Johns wrote Flashpoint lol
I assume you are right, in those kind of things, there isn't just one culprit
"True, apart from resetting the entire continuity"
The New 52 reboot isn't on him.
Flashpoint was supposed to end up with the original reality restored, but WB's higher-ups had demanded a shake-up to get comic sales up. DiDio wanted a reboot, Johns didn't but he was overruled, and his Flashpoint story was used as a vehicle.
"and destroying every tipe of preexistent legacy lol"
Completely untrue. Let's examine some facts:
* Johns has created prominent legacy characters like Miss Martian, Jaime Reyes, Courtney Whitmore and Jessica Cruz.
* His Flash run featuring Wally West is regarded as one of the definite Flash runs.
* Back in the early 00's, DC didn't know what to do with Kyle Rainer, Green Lantern sales were down and they only went up whenever Hal Jordan made some special appearance. Geoff Johns made a pitch, and editor Tomasi told him he could kill Kyle if he wanted. Johns refused to.
* In that vein, do you remember that scene in Green Lantern: Rebirth where Sinestro is mocking Kyle... and Hal defends and demands respect for Kyle?
* Dan DiDio wanted to get Nightwing killed in Infinite Crisis. Again, Johns refused and talked him out of it. He killed off Superboy -one of his favorite characters- in order to save Dick Grayson, and brought him back as soon as possible.
* After Infinite Crisis, DiDio stated in a pannel that the Matrix Supergirl had been retconned out of existence. Johns, who was attending that same panel, said Linda Danvers hadn't been wiped out at all.
* Speaking about Supergirl, he is one of the few DC writers who treats Kara Zor-El respectfully.
* If I'm not mistaken, he has written a very well-regarded Teen Titans run.
* And his JSA run was all about the Golden Age heroes mentoring the next generation.
* He wouldn't write the Rebirth one-shot unless he was allowed to bring the original Wally West back.
Johns have his favorites, but he respects legacy characters. Claiming he has destroyed every type of preexistent legacy when he has created, protected or built up a lot of legacy characters is factually false.
What do you think?
