Henry Cavill's Superman is my favorite.
He made Superman relatable, to the point I'm convinced that a person, any person can strive to be their best selves.
I aspire to be Superman.
There's a German psychologist, can't spell his name, let's call him FN.
He wrote a book about the Übermench, the "Overman"/Superman. It speaks about each person being able to reach his/her fullest potential, being their greatest self. Man of Steel reminded me of that. And I was going through my regular journey of self-discovery when I got the opportunity to see the movie... I watch the movie now and again, like once a month, at best.
I don't know what's up with the ageist thing, or generational, but here's my two cents. I've watch all the Superman movies, even animated, unfortunately Reeve's Superman although was fun to watch when I was younger, I can't really find myself relating to him.
Maybe I should give that Superman another look. I did enjoy Brandon Routh's Superman. I'd be perfectly satisfied had he stayed with the role, if only it was his own take, and not Reeve's.
Overman? Thats the Nazi version of Superman!
Über in German/Deutsche is "over", with synonyms being great, super, etc.
I didnt know that. But the name Overman in DC comics usually refers to the Earth X Superman.
Yup, Overman. I've read about him. Haven't read his books though.
BTW, the Übermench book I'm referring to was written and published sometime in the 1800s, if I'm not mistaken.
The book was also referenced in Smallville, in the episode that had Carter Hall investigating something in some desert, I think Egypt.
Oh. Ill look it up. Havent seen Smallville. Is it good?
Honestly, I enjoyed it. I'd definitely recommend.
I wish it was shorter though.
It's a great story of how Clark Kent becomes Superman. In fact, if you can binge watch 10 seasons, before you get to see the Crisis event on the CW, I'd advise you watch Smallville. They'll be making the series canon.
U mean CW canon? Cus the shows have a multiverse of their own
Yup, the Arrowverse.
They'll be making Smallville a part of it, just like how they've made The Flash (1990 - 1991) a part of the multiverse by designating it as Earth 90.
What do you think?
