Star-Spangled Kid had Starman's Cosmic Staff at the end of his career. And also the costume is right, because he hasn't the mask.

Star-Spangled Kid (Sylvester Pemberton) had the Cosmic Converter Belt, and when he was in Infinity Inc., he went by Skyman, and the costume matches to that.

Courtney started as Star-Spangled Kid, with just the belt. Only after Jack Knight retired did she get the Cosmic Staff (itself an upgrade of Ted Knight's Cosmic Rod). She changed her name to Stargirl and carries on two legacies.

It's not comics accurate, but it doesn't have to be. I understand why they conflated the two.

Sylvester used the Cosmic Staff sometimes. However, i haven't said it's a photocopy of the comics. I'vs said i can see comics references... that's being comic accurate. Not everythig must be equal to the comics.

Now I’m thinking about Jack’s long run and all that series entailed! You think we’ll get another run at The Shade? The first one was underwhelming. I totally think we could get another Mist, and that Cardigan would play one of them again. And Nash’s mist seems like a possibility too. All this may be seasons down the line, but it’s fun to think about.

I like Stargirl and I read the original Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. series. The feeling I got watching the trailer is definitely similar.

There're changes, of course, and some of them are for the best. In the original comic, Courtney finds the Star-Spangled Kid's gear because Pat was careless enough to leave the box lying in Courtney's bedroom. In the series, he isn't so careless but Courtney is too nosey.

That does feel more realistic. I mean if you’re responsible enough to be a superhero you’d think, right?
