Thanks for telling me that. Was Dan Dodo (that is my name for him because his connection to entertainment should be extinct) the one who wanted him as Ric Grayson? I also think I heard part of the inspiration for the name change part is that he was being immature and was not okay with a name that refers to a genital in a different way of using D I C K. If that is what it was, that is messed up. I dont know about Ric Grayson's actual story but it is kinda like the Silver Surfer that I am watching the animated series of to help me into Marvel.

Everyone knows what dick means lol. Thats prolly why the name change happened. It was a common name in the 40s. But thr thing about Ric is that instead of just changing his name they shot him in th head and made him a taxi driver. But either way, thats not connected to Forever Evil. After getting unmasked in Forever Evil, Dick became Agent Grayson.

A good time for the name change from Dick to Ric would have been at the start of The New 52

Comics now, and even the Batman Lego Movie, has pointed out the name

It also happened in "Gotham City Garage" when Dick and Kara are being chased by a killer robot and the former decides to use the latter as bait:

Dick: We've got one option— split up!

Kara: But it''ll keep following one of us!

Dick: Exactly!

Kara: What? Come back, you complete and total dick!

Dick: What can I say, it's in the name!

And then the robot starts chasing HIM..

I still have no idea how dick is the shortened version of Richard,why not Rick? Although Rick Grayson sounds like someone who would bully you in middle school....
