Yes I know that's not the original cover, but it still has the same lineup from the original comic
Nope.
The original New Teen Titans featured at its inception, Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg and Changeling.
That image is from Teen Titans Vol 3 and has one new character and three successors.
Yeah i know that its not the actual new titans, but its close in the lineup.....also i cant go back in and fix it :p It was either refer to it as Dick/Tim's Team, but that would be too much seeing as this is in-between Dick's original group and Tim's New 52 group
But here i have the real ORIGINAL cover for the New Titans.
Who is CURRENTLY serving on the Teen Titans squad right now? I haven’t picked up a volume of theirs in about a year or so. 🤔
Discount Robin, Discount Red Arrow, Discount Kid Flash, Discount Lobo and... I dunno, Discount Bouncing Boy?
Nah, I think that was actual Bouncing Boy. I think.
I won't have Chuck Taine's name tainted that way.
For the "New 52," are you referring to the first New 52 team or the one that came after?
The image listed for “New Titans” isn’t even Tim’s team. Tim joined during that period, but Cyborg was the leader. Tim didn’t lead the team until after he rejoined following the One Year Gap, and even then, only after Cyborg left. So there would is no variation of the Titans that Tim led that had “New” anywhere near the team’s name.
There were so many incarnations of the NTT and NT. The NTT had a few great lineups, even as the roster changed. When they finally dropped “Teen” from their name (after most of them were 21 years old), the team had a similar lineup, with some changes. The more drastic roster change for the team specifically while going under the name New Titans game after the “Titans Hunt” saga, wherein half the members changed. The New Titans changed again after issue #100 when Nightwing and Starfire left and Arsenal took over as leader, with Phantasm II joining. And then the post-Zero Hour iteration of the New Titans is often considered its own incarnation of the team, whereas previous iterations are often lumped into a “NTT/NT” overarching category due to the team still being largely together despite the more drastic transitions.
That cover as you likely know is one of the many covers of Teen Titans v3 #1. The title had a story called “The New Teen Titans,” but that wasn’t the name of the team, neither in-universe nor editorially.
Personally, Bobbie, while the N52 Teen Titans had two publication volumes, I very much so consider them the same incarnation. The ones who were members at the end of v4 returned in v5, minus Skitter, who was shortly replaced by Power Girl. I reckon it’s a parallel situation as what happened in TT v1, wherein the group took a hiatus and then reformed. But the team in-universe considered all those periods to be the same incarnation of the group, as did editorial.
I reckon if you wanted to argue a PE iteration of the team has had multiple iterations, there’s a stronger case for splitting hairs between Damian’s Rebirth and post-NJ teams, as well as the older Titans team, which similarly had an overhaul.
What do you think?
