Oh boy! Where do I start with this run? For back history, I started getting into Green Arrow when I was 12 years old, after being a fan of the smallville version and anticipating the new Arrow show coming, I decided to read some Green Arrow comics, and this, the Ann Nocenti run, was my first foray into GA comics. I was confused as hell by this run, which is something because when I was younger I loved other New 52 comics. So let's get started...
The start of this run, titled "Triple threat" has our main hero fight these triplets of girls, but before hand, he was reading his company's paperwork and just throws into the air of the city, where any can pick it up when it falls to the ground. Yeah, real smart Queen. So we find out these girls are big fan of GA and want to work for him. How GA doesn't realize it's a trap is beyond me, but the new 52 GA isn't Ackbar. So they get on a private jet, he sleeps with two of them, and while they were doing it, the other was reprogramming the jet. They kidnap and tie him to a chair, then crash his plane. You know, I've counted a lot of times in the GA new 52 series were he so be dead because of his stupidity. We find out that their daddy is this big, human-like wolf that a furry would definitely love to shag, and he's making genetically altered animals. Oh, and one of the triplets betray them because she loves Oliver. Even though they hardly met. This arc consists of constant shagging. This arc concludes with GA escaping the mountain, but skylark ( one of the triplets who he loved) dying. Thus making this story beyond pointless.
This is her run. Random stories with no real story behind it and chop full of sexual innuendo just because. It feels like homework. Things happen in this comic just to happen and it wasn't properly thought out. The only artist I liked during this run was Freddie Williams ll. It was really vibrate and I like the way he does action on the panels. There was also the new 52 infamous crossover problem in her run as well. And the villains Oliver face in this run, my god just bring back his villians instead of making new one. Harrow looks like mad Captain Ahab from Moby dick and Skylark isn't the most interesting thing on the block.
I've heard alot about the Ann Nocenti run of Daredevil, and reading her Green Arrow run, I'm quite skeptical about it now. But hey, lets get to the real goods, it's time for the Jeff Lemire run...
