GFT by Zenescope is definitely infamous for its overly “sexy” art depiction, but the series is worth testing out, in my opinion, specifically because the storytelling is so well-done. The first trade appears to contain a number of independent tales told by a narrator. But it doesn’t take long for that narrator in the background to become the lead character, and for those stories to not simply be stories anymore. If you have any interest in fantasy-style stories that involve multiple worlds intersecting with a version of “our”/“the real” world, then you may want to consider it. Whatever you do, though, don’t judge it solely on the first trade if you decide to start reading by trade.
I only got to issue #70 before I put it on hold, but I plan to get back to it. I started reading it because it was infamous for its art, and I wanted something flashy to review for my NerdyN8sNotes.com page. But after getting used to the exaggerated art, I found a series with deep and complex storytelling that I greatly appreciated.
