Maybe they looked at it for inspiration. Earth One is more or less an "Ultimates" for casual fans who just want a book every now and then, not a weekly commitment.

@Tupka217 yeah i got that type of vibe but from the costume and the way the riddler in the movie came off as jigsaw (not complaining that should be how he is in a darker universe) i just remember everyone comparing it to a long halloween instead of earth one

Yep, you aren't the 1st peron to point that out. And yeah, its what much of mcus 1st phase looks were based on even if the stories remained closer to 616. It actually qorks fine in this case but DC probably wouldnt do the same in dceu because as seen with mcu, basing designs and characters off of ultimate was soon dropped.

@Anotherbatmanfan i dont mind the dc universe being dark heck it should be i mean batman is one of the darkest characters with some pretty messed up villians it should play out like a murder mystery and if its anything like earth one the movie should be good

The issue is when they try to incorporate that same darkness into someone like superman its part of the reason why man of steel is hated so much he is the shining beacon of hope while batman fights for those that cant defend themselves naturally the latter should be a dark character if the reboot of sorts is in the works i hope they can get the two right this time i personally think robert pattinson looks great but im scared the movie might have a hype issue much like new mutants

I dont think you get it. I was referring to the designs of characters cus many of them just look nothing like they should.

But on to the dark subject even if you like snyders edgelord universe, Ultimate universe wasnt dark than really just really horribly written. Everyone other than Thor and Spider-Man is just bad. They range from pedos (Hank Pym), rapists (Wolverine), sometimes both (also Wolverine), raging dead beat alcoholics (Stark), racist red necks (Cap), cannibals (Hulk), psychopaths who beat their wives to the hospital (Hank), flat out criminals (Defenders) and incest (Maximoffs). All in an attempt to be realistic.
