Would TDKR have been a better movie if Talia wasn't in it?
Eh...Yeah. Give Bane his chance to shine!
Scar, that’s a really great idea. Zack Snyder should get some money to fix that movie too.
Do you know what Snyder said he’d do if he got his hands on the Nolan Trilogy?
Do tell...
Look it up
If you're alluding to what I'm thinking of @Scar&Hyenas, he didn't say it was specifically what he'd do to the Nolan movies, it was his reaction to people saying they were "dark," and something he might do instead in a Batman movie to make it "dark".
And yeah, what he said was tasteless, no doubt, but I basically agree with the claim that the Nolan movies aren't all that "dark". And when he did his own "dark" Batman movie, nothing like what he suggested ever came up, and he managed to make it dark without that.
On the topic of Snyder re-doing someone else's movie to "fix" it, I don't think he'd really want to touch that one, given his reaction when someone tried to "fix" one of his movies. I think he cares too much for an artist's vision to mess with someone else's.
Him and Nolan are friends. I don’t think what he said was tasteless. His vision is different than Nolan’s. Reminds me of when aaronofasky was doing an original Batman movie with frank miller. Miller said that aaronofsky’s vision was way too dark and gory. Everyone has a different take. A lot of Rises was shot by assistant directors and Nolan had really moved on. He didn’t sit through the editing process. Hence the terrible cuts that got used. I think Nolan would have benefited greatly from Snyder’s input. Just like Snyder benefited from Nolan being a producer on man of steel. I don’t think Nolan, who is my favorite director, really cared much about canon or staying true to the themes. Rises is his worst film in my opinion. And man of steel is Snyder’s best.
If Frank Miller thinks your movie is too dark, you know your doing something wrong.
Miller is more "edgy" than dark.
What do you think?
