Can someone please tell me when were some characters born, or how old are they currently? For example, Bruce Wayne, Harley Quinn, Selina Kyle, or Pamela Isley. Why doesn't DC give their characters birth dates?

Ages themselves aren’t a problem, but achoring then to a real world event is trickier. Someone can be 35 for 20 years, but they can’t be a Vietnam veteran and still be mid thirties 20 years down the line. Theyhad to retcon that for Jason Bard, but Captain Atom was still tied to it... meaning Eiling would be well beyond retirement age.
We have seen many tombsotnes Fate. It doesnt matter since itll be noncanon in a feww years. As for Nam, they can just pull a Marvel and make up a fictional war that moves with the sliding timescale lol
Were there fictional wars? I remember the retcons for Iron Man was that Vietnam was all in his head as he was purging his mind of his technology from his captors
Kara Zor-El was 16 years old in her first appearance.
Birthdates can be implied, but they usually aren't confirmed ages.
Fate, Marvel recently created something called the Sian Cong War set in an old country Marvel made back in the 60s that was similar to Vietnam. This war is now what they use to explain how Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Thing, Punisher, and anyone else was part of a war. Its not in any set time so Marvel can move it with the sliding timescale. Pretty much solves the problem of constant retconning once and for all.
Even though the SianCong war was a Vietnam war retcon, I think Sin-Cong is more similar to North Korea, they even made their "leader" look strangely similar to Kim Jong Un (haircut and everything)
Anyway, as was stated above, you won't see the year many characters were born (unless they are immortal) due to comic characters not aging, otherwise most characters would be over 70 years old by now.
That's a cool fact.
Well I think its just a combination of all of those communist ideas and countries overrun by it. China, North Korea and Vietnam. It was even a part of China once. Now that Iron Man villain was actually originally from Vietnam and Jongs grandfather was in rule at the time, so I don't think that was the intention, since the ruler we had before the retcon, and who probably became ruler after Wong Chus supposed death now, looked nothing like him. With that said, it uses the People Republic in its name which is also what North Korea calls itself.
I was talking about the most recent Sin-Cong. This was their "leader" before he was deposed during All-New Inhumans. I honestly did not know much about this Country until All-New Inhumans since I don't think I've ever read another comic where they played an important part in the story, at least not that I can remember.
But you are right though, the Country is combination of communist ideas and Countries overrun by it.
Oh okay. I havent read that or seen him. Weird the wiki has no page on him. Yeah, I see what youre saying.
What do you think?
