That's annoying, exhibition mode was the one I used most. Now its pretty much impossible to recognize a character if I don't already know their name.
True. But Exhibition had a very, very fatal flaw.
It was created in, what, 2012? Back then, it seemed like a good idea. And it was. However, it's been overtaken by developments from Fandom's biggest competitor.
Google.
Basically, the way category pages are structured, both classic and exhibition, is that all the tab pages are considered duplicates of the first. And your SEO is punished if you have duplicate pages. Classic has 200 members per tab. Exhibition only 16. Dynamic Categories was specifically set up to counter this issue.
I'm an old fuddy duddy, back when I started we only had one mode and we liked it. So Classic is my go to. However, especially on maintenance tasks, I sometimes switched to exhibition to see the most popular pages left, they obvs needed priority.
This, I liked the portaits more. Also I don't really understand why exhibition mode is flawed.
I explained. Bad SEO. Often times SEO and UX (to throw out another fancy term) are at odds.
I'm also not loving the new wiki activity format.
Do you mean WikiActivity, or RecentChanges?
Technically, WikiActivity is discontinued. A user made a script to emulate it, which I’ve imported. It’s not 1:1. It’s basicallty a hack. Cosmetics aren’t a priority.
Recent Changes is the out of the box updated version of the old Recent Changes. If you don’t like the filter box you can disable it in your preferences and you get the same module as the old RC.
Ok, thank you for the advice.
I know you explained but I dont understand the terms you are using. Explain it so more people can understand it.
Some of the disambig pages are looking weird.
Which ones?
What do you think?
