Buying this book will make DC complacent. Many of these big companies look at the brands and how well they sell. If you blindly buy a book because you want to support the industry, hey it's up to you, but the consequences also include them changing the format for the comics and books, media they cover in the future. In their head, they see that this book is selling well, and what makes them profit will be the standard. Sure you'll see your typical comic, but more of these books. That costs a lot of money and at a point, people will say enough and stop buying the books out of support. What happens then is they lose money. They paid for the writer, the supplies, the licensing fees, etc. If it was online, they still have to pay just not for printing and supplies, they just get added on for the domain and fees they have to pay for the countries/states for online retail. Depends on each state/country, but they charge based on the number of sales of the product, this includes digital retail, where you get the digital version of the comic(s).

Another analogy: You have no experience steering an airplane. The pilot is steering properly and the plane is visibly going down. Are we to assume because we are not particularly knowledgeable in the field that we can't criticize it. If a doctor is improperly conducting surgery on you, do we not assume he was a bad doctor and something went wrong.

Okay then go fix the Problem and save the airplane from crashing. 👍

That's how the market works. Companies just ride the wave, and adapt or die. And then in five years the market changes and they try something else. Don't think your actions have any influence on the market.

Per individual issue, the cost of printing and distributing is actually not that much. So digital cost price will not be much lower. However, paper has considerably more overhead and even before Corona, brick and mortar stores were dropping like flies. that's not the comics buyers fault; I know several stores that cater to a very specific crowd and are unwelcoming to new visitors, which might've worked for a long time but no longer a sensible business plan. Add to that the real estate mess and good luck getting a store in a visible enough location.

This is the market. You sink or swim by its waves. You can be nostalgic over it, but nostalgic feelings don't make enough money.

Sure, or we can let it go because at some point it's too late. We're steering out of control, and no one cares to question issues involving the plane and it's members, so we might as well crash.

@Tupka217 I mean you're not wrong. If DC fades away, it's their own fault. I'm just saying how we as consumers could just speak up. I mean if you care about something, you want it to do well, you do the best possible, if it doesn't work out, then well goodbye DC.

We're not crashing. You're just sulking in the back of the bus while the driver only has eyes for the new young kids.

I mean if you call new young kids, 30-40 year old's who have been established already, go ahead. I maybe sulking at the back, but it was for the people who didn't know when to tell the bus driver to stop driving off the cliff.

Or maybe they built a bridge by now. Roads change.

I hope so cause looking at the bridge right now it looks decayed, it could break at anytime.
