My favorite storyline featuring Eobard is “The Return of Barry Allen,” which takes place in The Flash v2 #73-79. The story is also sometimes referred to as “The Once and Future Flash,” which is a title I like better, but I understand how the official title probably sold more issues from a marketing standpoint. The story takes place during Mark Waid’s run on Flash. The storyline is collected in this trade, which also has a handful of issues before this story as well (decent bang for the buck). The story features Eobard facing off against Wally before Eobard even chronologically meets Barry Allen. It’s a compelling story.
