Clearly you DON'T have all sources you need when you are factually, objectively and utterly wrong.

First of all, Superman had to learn how to use his powers. That's is what happened in the comics, so it is not up to debate. Do you seriously believe someone who can kill one whole town by sneezing never had to learn how to control his powers? Are you aware that he had to train Supergirl for a long while until she was ready to use her powers?

Second, your reasons to argue against him being a badass are preposterous and hypocritical. Since when being born with powers makes you NOT a badass? You try to go back in time and explain to ancient Greeks, Romans and Scandinavians that Herakles and Thor were not badasses because they were born with superhuman strength.

And, predictably, characters who have been born with powers but you happen to like are still badasses because you say so. Sorry, that will be always an argument hypocritical. Barry had to learn how to use his speed but Superman did not? That is not what is in the original comics.

And you actually buy Luthor's tripe? Luthor's rants are nothing but excuses to deceive himself. His motives to hate Superman have always been overweening pride and envy. Superman's existence does NOT hold humanity back or ruin their accomplishments - ridiculous notion- and Luthor hates Superman because Luthor wants everyone to worshipping him.

Did you know what Luthor got powers in the 52 series? And you know what he did? Hurting people and rambling over how to be a superbeing is way better than being human.

And when he got godly powers in The Black Ring? His first act was attempting to kill Superman. That is the only thing he cared for.

Luthor is a egotistical, self-serving billionaire super-genius with vast resources and zero empathy. The only Superman people should be wary and frightened of is Luthor himself.

As for the question, a badass is someone who does badass actions. Superman has done badass things, so he is a badass. I do not get why this is a question.

In a sense, the most Badass part about Superman's powers (which also goes for Wonder Woman) is that they know not to use them. Yes, they can level a block to capture a crook. But talking the crook down is a much bigger power flex.

He's a badass because of his heart, not his might.

I think this person thinks that being badass means beating opponents to death or near death, everyone being terrified of you etc

@MektonZ You would have a great point if you would tell me how Superman learned to control his powers! With The Force from Star Wars it isn't something possible like running real fast but we can see throughout the lore that there are dos and don'ts for using the force and I don't mean using it for good instead of evil. We can see a lot of that in The Empire Strikes Back. How can you learn to do something if you can't name both a right way and a wrong way to do it?! And as for Herakles, they didn't name a story, The Twelve LABORS of Herakles for nothing, labors implying that effort was needed! And as for Thor, he was revered throughout Scandinavia as the reason why thunderstorms happen as a punishment to society so that is another definition of badass.

If you need to be a good person to be badass, then why do you focus so much on whether they learn to use their powers or not? Isn't Superman a good person? Do you realize how your arguments are so contradictory and make no sense?
