Detective Comics Vol 1 603 Etrigan obliterates a supernatural foe that Batman couldn’t stop with a wrecking ball. Upon completion, Etrigan attempts to acquire some human souls as well which Batman refuses to allow. Etrigan subdues Batman like he was… well, Batman in The Hiketeia. Batman would have died had Etrigan not found it amusingly ironic that Bruce was a tormented soul soul just as he.
In their very encounter in The Brave and the Bold Vol 109, IIRC, Etrigan saves Batman’s life by once again defeating an extramundane enemy the Dark Knight could not. Though the two had no altercation of their own, it’s hardly a false syllogism to assume what would have happened if they did based on these events. And while the ‘Haneyverse’s’ canonicity in dubious, it’s good enough for Matt Wagner to reference in Vol 2. I also consider it a fine gothic story which is apt for their first meeting.
Batman Vol 2 546, the two feign altercation to deceive Joker. Batman’s only plan was to turn Etrigan against Joker.
Superman & Batman vs. Vampires & Werewolves Vol 1 5, no altercation.
Batman/Demon, no altercation.
Blood of the Demon Vol 1 3, even Byrne—in his infinite ignorance—depicts Etrigan far above Batman’s capabilities until Randu reverts him back to Blood. (In this mockery of continuity, Batman is unaware the two are conjoined. God I hate Byrne.)
So there it is. Next time you attempt condescension try not to expose your own ignorance.
