He’s just filling in for his dad while Clark is away. He was Superboy until Clark needed Jon to be the Superman of Metropolis while he’s away, because Metropolis has proven it needs one (a story point that’s been done a number of times before, including fairly recently). So he’s going by Superman for now, but I’d wager he’ll be Superboy again before long once Clark returns to Metropolis. Jon’s solo title is a limited series after all, which alone suggests that the concept is temporary.

^Yeah... I'm reading online though DC is planning perhaps another Death of Superman. Making Jon Kent Superman a tad longer as Superman, but that remains to be seen

I'm not sure they're gonna kill clark again, I mean there is a chance he'll be stranded on warworld with everyone just assuming he's dead but I'd wager DC isn't doing another death of superman again.They did just do it again right when new 52 was ending after all and another one so soon will be just lazy and repetitive.

I think he just meant the whole “replacement of Superman” angle, since many heroes in Metropolis have started uniting in their efforts to protect the city since Clark left.

Thinking now, Superman has died. I think he died in Future State on Warworld, but was resurrected. He's died many times, if I remember correctly

Most of the events in future state timeline have already been prevented.

Gotham never went full fearstate because batman prevented it, black Adam came back in time and thereby prevented the future which was in store for Billy, Wally hasn't been taken over by famine and match found out he was not Superboy before going to earth 3 with Waller whom Rick flag is already amidst the plan to stop. Superman is already on warworld but this time he has team so I don't think they are going to be defeated this time.
