@N8THGR852 oh thanks... but have u ever got a big spoiler before from a comic book? if yes did it bother you a lot? and also how did you deal with it?
Yeah, these deaths aren't on the same level as, say, spoiling the ending of Murder on the Orient Express, The Sixth Sense or Fight Club.
Though even listing those as saying they have spoilable endings is a spoiler, in a way. Whoops.
If you’re a comic fan, the only comics one should even want to try avoiding are newer comics (1-2 years old), and that’s only if they’re wanting to have any amount of surprise. For most comics, especially ones that are 35 years old like the one you got “spoiled” on, that information is usually knowledge that the DC fandom community knows at large. A lot of DC lore is known by people even before they read a book. You know that Jason Todd was Robin but then became Red Hood, right? Anyone remotely interested in Batman could learn that type of thing before they even pick up a comic. But how did it happen? That’s the important question. And even if you learn some details about the “how”s, you still can’t learn everything unless you read it yourself.
There’s no “dealing with it” if you don’t let it upset you in the first place. Sounds like you need to accept that as a comic fan you’re supposed to largely know what happens in books before you read them, if you’re immersed in the lore and fandom at all.
@N8THGR852 honestly thanks for the advise bro it makes a lot of sense thanks so much. I'm actually a new comic book reader but I have been a fan of superheroes mostly DC and Marvel since I was 5 years old and now I'm 14 and I'm new to all this stuff so I don't really know how to react into the things I encounter, But I'm really thankful for the advise it made me feel better.
Whelp, that’s a good thing, I suppose. Immerse yourself and learn more about DC, and then choose what comics to read based on what holes in your knowledge you want to be filled.
When I read older comics from DC, I see it like historic research. I sometimes check the article for some issues in this wiki and find out stuff like "Oh, x character is in fact y in disguise. Whoops." But that doesn't affect me because is just knowledge. I don't get too upset about spoilers in general (I spoil myself most Marvel movies for example). The only occasions I completely avoid spoilers are for current TV shows I catch up with or watch as they release, and some comics outside DC, like Invincible or The Walking Dead.
I don't read ongoing comics so I can't be spoilered 😎😎
Everything I read has already been spoilered...
"Spoilered"? 😅
My ability to put verbs in the past in English temporarily bugged.
SPOILERS are easy to avoid, just stay away from the internet... me? I don't care about them
What do you think?
