Tim isn't the god of magic, he is the kid with the potential to be the most powerful magician on earth and I don't really know if he is canon on earth-0 anymore.

Well, Tim Hunter has always been in the mainstream universe. It’s just that he has mostly appeared in comic titles published by DC’s darker imprints like Vertigo and Black Label, with few exceptions, like his brief tenure with Justice League Dark during the New 52 era. Will he appear anytime soon? Maybe, maybe not. Considering he starred in a title that only just ended last year, DC may not be ready to put out another title for him soon. Who knows, he could make an appearance in a DC-proper comic, but that’s not usually where he’s used.

Also, while the similarity is striking, Tim Hunter first appeared in 1990 and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published in 1997 so the phrase you should be saying is "Yo is that Timothy Hunter?".

I do find it odd that how much Harry Potter looks like tim hunter. The books of magic title are being published since 1990 whereas the Harry Potter books came around 1997 and sometimes I wonder if J.K. Rowling might have gotten her inspiration for Harry Potter from these comics otherwise it's a very interesting coincidence.

I think it was confirmed somewhere that JK Rowling was also partly inspired by Books of Magic to write her book.

So the similarity probably derives by the fact Tim was actually one of the inspirations for Harry Potter.

Oh thank goodness I thought JK Rowling would sue
