In all fairness batman who laughs is a good concept, and started off interesting (which is why people loved them so much), but yeah, IMO they're pretty overused. It feels like they fall into that same trope that often gets Batman in certain stories, which is 'dark' writing, but without the actual reason to it, it just sort of becomes chaotic and a bit edgy.
