...I say this knowing damn well that I know nothing about any Milestone characters besides Static, and even then just the stuff in the cartoon lol. I think they're very interesting and important character, however.
I just don’t think there’s enough traction for each to get their own game. If Milestone had a cohesive game that showcased its diverse, interesting cast of characters that aren’t entirely alt-media-focused, the game would be a truer embodiment of the legacy that the late Dwayne McDuffie and the other founders set in place. Milestone is more than just Static. I’ve read every comic they produced, and all of the titles were stellar. Even if the playable characters were very limited, the other characters could still appear in the story to show how interconnected Milestone’s whole deal was. I wouldn’t mind Static being the main lead, but even if he’s the sole playable character, I think the game’s title shouldn’t include “Static,” because that just perpetuates the unfair idea that he’s their only viable/worthy character of getting spotlight.
I think hardware would work especially well in a game.
Points taken, and I agree. Perhaps the opposite of what I was saying would work out better with Milestone in general being the main games, and smaller games focused on the individual heroes instead.
Either way, I'd like spotlight on Milestone at all, even if it's just Static.
I’ve wanted and thought of a Green Arrow game for years now. I even thought of a Green Lantern Green Arrow game based loosely on the comic and it’s principles.
That being said, Static is a close second. An upgrading and unlocking powers system, maybe incorporate the other milestone heroes in there, and of course you’ve gotta use the song. Nostalgia heads would dish out major coins for it too, it might go down as one of the financial goats.
Which song? Cause both are bangers.
That’s kind of what I was thinking, Jonny. Start with Virgil going to the Big Bang and have him become Static. Then you start pulling the story threads and learn how Hardware, Icon, the Blood Syndicate and the Shadow Cabinet are involved. Unlock playable characters as you go. Or, rather, I’m also thinking that it’s the type of thing that each of the chosen playable characters has their own campaigns within the larger game. As you play through one character’s chapter, others become playable. Eventually, all the individual stories converge.
Superman, Shazam, the Flash and Aquaman are my top choices.
Kind of an Arkham City Catwoman situation, you can play as the others, and they may even playthrough essential parts of the story, but still Static gets the larger story. Even when it’s finished there’s still areas, side quest, and collectables that you could access as Rocket, Icon, or Hardware. Could be fun, though that would likely be working with a lot of different mechanics, would developers go that far?
I was thinking more of a Web of Shadows situation. You’d only play as Static but the others help you, fight along side you, and you could call specific heroes in battle. And now that I think about it that opens the door for endless DLCs in which that’s the only way you can play as the other characters. Gosh I hope WB games doesn’t see this, they’d eat that plan up, along with our wallets.
But with these 2 new multiple protagonist games like SS kills the JL and Gotham Knights who knows, giving them all equally large parts of the story could be the future… if those games are successful.
I'd love a superman game because I love it when I'm OP and I can just obliterate villains with a flick. It should be r rated or something with extreme violence
What do you think?
