Overall I think the movie is a 9/10.
Positives:
The acting was great from pretty much every single person ( even the extras)
Cinematography was just orgasmic for the eyes
Soundtrack really set the tone well for Gotham city and Batman respectively
Overall plot and direction was also quite nice for the start of the trilogy. Good to see the detective and darker side of Batman on the big screen
Slight negatives (spoilers):
the pacing of the movie in which certain scenes felt a bit longer or unnecessary from first time viewing. The last 15 mins especially, The scene included within the movie of Barry’s Joker was just fanservice and not needed whatsover, not to mention the 5 min deleted scene was better though also not necessary. Joker should have been completely omitted from the movie. Also I get that killing off Falcone is to set up a power struggle of criminals in Gotham (mostly Penguin) but I hoped to see him be a more impressionable character considering how important he is to Catwoman’s storyline.
Aside from those nitpicks this movie was a masterpiece and I think Matt Reeves really nailed the world of Batman quite nicely. Really hope to see villains like Hush, Scarecrow, Two Face, Calendar Man and the Court of Owls get the spotlight for the sequels. For being an introductory movie of the planned trilogy, This sits up there with the Dark Knight if not surpasses it.
