I'd recommend you read infinite frontier and it's sequel justice league incarnate if you're not caught up with post death metal continuity. It will also help you understand what's happening in the Omniverse right now and you'll be all but ready for dark crisis.

^I'm not even caught up with New 52 continuity, I'm still reading through the classics and the "character defining" runs.

Forget new 52, it's only necessary if you want to read current continuity Aquaman, flash and batman otherwise there's literally no need to even bother with it. Half of new 52 has already been retconned and/or forgotten. All you need to understand for infinite frontier and justice league incarnate (justice league of the multiverse) is death metal.

Did you enjoy death metal?

Yeah. It's definitely not the best DC crisis event but it certainly has it's charms (death metal: the secret origin, death metal: speed metal) and I appreciate death metal even more now since it lead to series like justice league incarnate and infinite frontier.

I wasn't a fan of yet another reboot but the universe we have now is leading to some great stories so I have no qualms anymore.

I kind of got annoyed when they announced Dark Crisis. Because not only had they already done Final Crisis but, I thought every crisis was supposed to have led up to Death Metal proving once again DC can always fake it like they planned it all.

Honestly, I’d be cool with everyone inhabiting the same universe. But if I had to choose probably a ton of random villains. I love to street villains.
