The TV suit looks the best design-wise in my opinion, but the way that mask extends over her forehead bothers me.
It’s especially odd since the rest of the suit looks looks so fancy and high quality compared to the belt. If this was on a cheaper looking suit I wouldn’t really question it.
I thought there was something off about the mask as well. It’s comic accurate but it looks weird because Courtney doesn’t have a fringe (“bangs” for the Americans) in the show like she does in the comics.
Yeah, it's mainly to hide her secret identity in the comics, but here, I guess it's to not have someone weird judge her forehead.
^Yeah, I was thinking the mask looks weird, but it makes sense that it would better protect her secret identity
Brec's suit is so comic accurate
Wearing a morph suit would protect her identity. The only thing that really hides a costumed person’s identity is sheer anonymity of population. If you’re not a public personality no one will ever think twice about stranglers out of uniform. Only risk is friends and family seeing likenesses, that’s why you keep your vigilante identity out of the media.
Batman kind of gets away with it because Batman is traditionally reclusive hero despite the high profile Bruce Wayne, but those close to Batman should have a suspicion of his true identity.
Ollie is another level of ridiculousness. The goatee should have been a fake beard to hide his identity, not his actual facial hair. It only made sense that his identity be made public.
Real world logic doesn't really totally apply to secret identities in comics. It's still cool that way: the double identity is a nice narrative gimmick.
Perfected with Two Face.
I think the mask is just something readers have accepted since the days of Scarlet Pimpernel and Zorro. Movies have gone to extraordinary lengths to justify it with totally impractical grease paint and stuff, and Green Lantern just points out how ridiculous masks are. Maybe in a world where masks are normalized will people not pay attention but if you were to walk up to an acquaintance in a costume with just a domino mask, they'd recognize you straight away.
What do you think?
