Both are kind of a mess, IMO. And they have been since 2016/2017. The MCU has a coherent narrative, but it's also putting out too much stuff, which wouldn't be as much of a problem if they weren't still perpetuating the "you have to watch everything" narrative while also just doing the same thing over and over. They have no financial motivation to experiment or fix things people don't like anymore. So people are just getting burnt out and apathetic.
The DCEU, on the other hand, has less of a coherent strategy and has arguably been falling apart since the JL debacle, if not earlier, to the point where we're lucky if half the movies they announce get made. But the movies that land, and even the ones that don't, have more intention to them than anything the MCU's put out in years. They feel like they actually still care about experimenting and deviating instead of trying to trap consumers in an endless loop of watching the next thing, regardless of if they want to.
