On April 28, 2022, Superman Homepage started a poll, asking if Henry Cavill should be allowed to play Superman again, whether in a sequel to Man of Steel or a reboot.
Henry is a fantastic actor and I genuinely enjoyed his movies. Even people who otherwise dislike the DC Extended Universe admit that they like Henry, they just don't like the material he was given to work with. I would really like Henry to play Superman agaiin.
That said, I always do my best to stay grounded in reality. Warner Bros. DIscovery is going through a lot of changes right now and Henry himself is busy with other projects, most notably The Witcher, so there are logistic hurdles that prevent him from reprising the role, even if he has previously talked about how much he wants to play Superman again.
The possibility of WBD casting a new actor for Superman is becoming more likely with each passing year and that is an outcome I would rather avoid, but if push comes to shove, I'm willing to make some concessions to ensure the continued survival of the Superman franchise. At the end of the day, Superman is more than just the actor who plays him. Henry wasn't the first actor who played Superman in any form of entertainment and he most certainly won't be the last.
