The Bronze Age was the fun experimental stage of comics that combined the best of the SA with the Modern Age. Characters became less two-dimensional. Stories less juvenile and simplistic. Art styles started becoming less uniform.
For DC, an impactful boon was Kirby joining the team and being exceptionally prolific. He created my favourite character during this era.
Of course you also have writers exploring more serious themes as well. They start commenting on politics, social injustice, race, drugs and the ethics and morality that a world with extraordinary abilities entails.
