Pretty sure the main reason people presume cult is when members of it announce themselves like so as "we, the Snyder fans"

The problem with the black suit in ZSJL is that they never show him in need of a "power boost," or show any boost at all. Immediately after reviving, he's more than capable of holding off Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Cyborg at the same time and matching Flash's super speed without breaking a sweat. Then during the fight with Steppenwolf, he doesn't look any stronger than usual. I mean, Wonder Woman and Aquaman managed to injure and kill Steppenwolf with their weapons, and they didn't need any "power boost." So the black suit was just pointless fanservice in that scene.
