In The Dark Knight Returns, Batman had a good reason why he had the yellow emblem. It was for when he was getting shot at, the emblem would be a more favorable target and Batman had the most protection on his chest with kevlar

I’m usually neutral on the yellow oval. I’m fine with it either way. But on all black batsuits like these I think it’s essential. Without it you can barely see the symbol.

The one from The Flash is the best, but the one from the first movie is great too.
