I actually like the New 52 Superman.

For years now I've downplayed the New 52 Superman at every turn, slandering his name and essence entirely. But now I have a renewed interest for him and I think he's Not That Bad. I used to say hos costume sucks because its armor he doesn't really need and I thought the collar was pointless. Now I kinda dig it and I'm starting to warm up to Superhero costume redesigns as a whole. I like the new take and outlook on the character adding new aspects and exploring old ones on a modern landscape. I dunno, Just me.

I like the New 52 Superman too. Scott Lobdell's run not so much, but Geoff Johns and Gene Luen Yang definitely reinvigorated the character. I miss the guy

If you haven't read it yet, I suggest reading The Death of Superman: The Wake it was a very welcome sight to read him (well a version similar to New 52 Superman). And for me anyways, it was a proper send off to the character

The idea of a younger, more passionate Superman is fertile ground for interesting stories. It's just that this idea wasn't developed properly (looking at you, Scott Lobdell).

Also, the armor's excessive seamlines, armored look and high-collar make it very difficult to draw on a monthly basis.

Some stories were better than others, but the New 52 was, at the end of the day, a footnote in Superman's long history.

It wasn't bad. It was just mediocre, but unfortunately, this is one of those cases where mediocrity can be worse than outright badness. Why? Badness inspires action, while mediocrity inspires conformity. Superman stories in the New 52 never really tried to be great, just good enough.

That said, if you enjoyed the New 52, more power to you. I'm just saying why I didn't like the New 52.

I liked the new 52 superman too and I thought it was so disrespectful how they treated him. he dies, and doesn't even get a grand send off like the first death of superman did...they just go, "Here's an superman from an alternate universe who can replace him and we will never speak of the other one ever again."

That random Superman from an alternate universe was the one who was around for decades. One who didn't want to replace him. Initially just allowing his friends and family to carry on his legacy instead while he raised Jonathan outside of Metropolis.
Said family and friends of the New 52 Superman did in fact speak of him again. Many times. Even eventually leading to an actual conclusion where he merged with the Pre-52 incarnation during Mxyzptlk's big reveal of being the fake Clark Kent.
A grand send off on the same level of Death of Superman is not something you can pull twice anyway. Let alone with a version that existed for a far shorter time.

Geoff Johns tried to put New 52 into place on a new Earth (Earth-52). But now it doesn't exist anymore? I dunno. I came, I bought, I enjoyed what I read

Also, if you wanna get technical, New 52 Superman (or at least a variant of New 52 Superman) exists in Earth-52. Thank you, Doomsday Clock #12!
