Any thoughts on the DC's Multiverse??
It's cool.
Which Multiverse are we talking about?
Yeah, would agree with @Leader Vladimir, on that one.
@Blackbeard069 DC's Multiverse is cool but very confusing with all the crisis's happening.
I liked that the post-Crisis/New 52 multiverse had a limited number of earths, it made what happened on them feel more significant to me. I don't really understand why DC felt the need to bring back the infinite earths when 52 of them was already more than they knew what to do with.
Because it gives the writers more creative freedom.
I never understood why did the multiverse only had 52 universes. What's so important about 52 that DC needs to use that number repeatedly.
Branding. It was used for a weekly title and then they just ran with it. It's a strong and recognizable number.
I personally don’t like multiversity. I enjoy self contained “what if’s” like Elseworlds and the likes, but I loathe when it overflows into mainstream continuity. It’s only fun when it’s played for laughs.
In saying that, I just happened to find Morrison’s Multiversity in a bargain bin today. I would not have bought it on its own, but there was a deal for buy one and get the second half price, so I bought it with Superman by Mark Millar for the reasonable price of NZ$12.50. I will read it at some point.
Cool 😎
I think the multiverse always should have had infinite Earths, and any time a writer created a new world for a story, they should have to pick a wholly unused number. There's no reason at all why there should be like three Earth Tens or Earth Twelves, or ten Earth Ones.
