According to James Gunn, the DCU will mostly be a reboot but it will keep some elements from the old DCEU, like Peacemaker, Amanda Waller and Blue Beetle, with their respective actors.

I think the reboot will be like Batman/Batman Returns and Batman Forever/Batman and Robin. The actors who played Gordon and Alfred continued to play those characters but not in the same universe. Or like some of the Arrowverse characters like Trickster.

I don't see the problem with that approach. They are actors, they are not the characters, if Gunn wants to keep some of the actors, what's the problem? something similar happened to Black Panther, the actor died and so they killed the character... one of the dumbest decisions made by Marvel, just recast the character, they killed one of the most important characters in Marvel just because the actor died.

Batman has been played by multiple actors, and so has Superman and many others. Imagine if they decided to never recast Superman again after Reeves died... we would not have gotten C. Reeve (no relation to Reeves), H. Cavill, and all the others.

The actors are NOT the characters... *sigh*, a bit of a rant, I just find annoying how people think a character can only be played by a specific actor.

As much as I love Henry, I believe David Corenswet deserves a fair chance.

If you think the outrage for the departure of Henry was bad, that's nothing compared to the outrage Mario fans had upon learning that Chris Pratt would be voicing Mario in The Super Mario Bros Movie instead of Charles Martinet.

Later, in 2023, Martinet announced his retirement and Kevin Afghani was hired to replace him, so... yeah, characters are more important than actors.

I think it's already being rebooted and Aquman 2 is a last hurrah.
