Because Blackwashing and other AntiWhite inequalities are enabled.
As long it's a good actor (which Colin Salmon apparently is) I don't see the problem.
It's not like he needs to be white, it has nothing to do with his character.
If you want to talk about racism, let's talk about the length writers had to go to to introduce black Kryptonians at all. Vathlo Island (and its Legion cousin, Marzal Island) are ridiculous on purpose.
He was Black in Young Justice too. I don't mind. When it was rumored that Superman: Legacy could feature a black Clark Kent, I was a bit disappointed. I really don't want to see a black Clark Kent. it would be like having a black Peter Parker. it's pointless because you could have just used Miles, or in this case Val-Zod. I'm glad Clark is still White in the DCU. If we get a black Superman, I would rather have Val-Zod because he's an interesting character. I'm not against Black (or any other race) actors playing originally white roles (SLJ is a great Nick Fury, but Nick was white in the comics), but when there's a similar character who's black, just as interesting, and hasn't been in as many projects as their white counterpart, I would rather have that character. Spider-Verse wouldn't have been as good if Miles was just a black peter. Miles (in my opinion) is actually better in some ways than Peter. Same with gender swapping. It would be like if WB made a movie about a female version of Superman or Batman, instead of just making Supergirl or Batgirl. Does that make sense?
^Yeah that makes sense.
“Because Blackwashing and other AntiWhite inequalities are enabled.“
What kind of question is this?
Because it doesn't affect the character or his story....
My favorite version of Zod (from Young Justice) is Black and I really don't mind it.
What do you think?
