Bruce Wayne is Batman's alter ego, not the other way around
Yes, and The Batman didn't include it at all. Bruce Wayne is the fop, the socialite. That's at the heart of the character, taken straight from its predecessors the Scarlet Pimpernel and Zorro. And The Batman (and BvS too) completely ignored it.
Batman Forever
I understand why The Batman didn't focus that much on Bruce's life as a socialite. The movie is not about that. I won't impose an arbitrary threshold on the movie just so that it can be successful. The movie is about Batman's struggles to be human again.
As much as I like Christian Bale, I feel that he played Batman as too much of a goody-two-shoes and only Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson truly captured Batman's essence as a dark, vengeful creature of the night.
Catwoman was so much better in Batman Returns than in The Batman or Dark Knight Rises.
I also liked the more cartoony Penguin in Returns than the more realists The Batman take.
I do like The Batman’s Batman more than Begins though.
Yeah, it's ironic how The Dark Knight is considered the Batman movie ever but The Batman has the best portrayal of the titular superhero.
For me the contenders are returns, begins and battinson.
Returns hands down has the best live action batman villain in the form of Devito's penguin.
Begins is an overall brilliantly made and directed film with a great take on Bruce's emotional journey to becoming batman, although it has a weak 3rd act and villains that it doesn't make the best use of.
The Batman has the best portrayal of the Batman character for me, and some real originality in it's execution ( I love the production design and overall aesthetic, for example), but I find the villains, and Catwoman pretty lacking and underwritten (not so much the riddler actually, although I in his case I dislike that he is essentially a hodgepodge of different characters ripped from Fincher movies. I wish this batman had more of a match in terms of a well written and original villain.
I think overall they're around the same level for me, and it's too difficult to pick a clear front runner.
Forever is underrated and deserves to be included in this conversation but OP forbade it so 🤷
The batman movie from 2022
For me i feel like he did play batman well Christian bale but more like sarcastic or how Barry was in season 7 of the flash more overconfidently and miss the biggest picture of ever @Leader Vladimir
