I don’t know if we have enough veteran readers for the levels of deep discussions as you’d may like by posting in the forum, but you’re welcome to try Aquamanly. Can’t hurt, and nothing comes from nothing. But you may find the “pen pal” dynamic rewarding enough if you find a few users with which you can manage long-standing Message Wall threads. Some of us particularly like being analytical and dissecting what we read, for critiques or praises alike.

I’m not bashing female characters, I just think she’s too much. Too powerful and too sexy.

Moderately, for sure. He likes engaging in those sorts of talks, but he’s not often on. It’d be cool if he swang by. Other regulars are well-read, too, and may have some things to say, depending on the title/set of issues you’re reviewing.

I too want to read Jaime. I mentioned on another thread that his first series following Infinite Crisis is being collected in trade. The first book featuring 12 issues has been released with the second available for pre-order. If they sell then a third book would complete the run.

NTT was a great read and my entry level to the Titans. I opted for the omnibus format, which is awesome, except that they unfortunately discontinued releasing more after Vol 5. The trades may be a better option for this reason, though I have not researched how far into the series they collect. I also have the Silver and Bronze Age omnibuses and the Geoff Johns omnibus. All have merit in my opinion. Judas Contract is an iconic storyline, and the Slade/Tara “controversy” is only a blip in a greater whole.

I used to hate the concept of sidekicks. Excellent Titans writers changed that. One sidekick I thought was particularly lame was Speedy, but Roy Harper is now one of my favourite Titans. I believe it was by accident while reading The Demon in Action Comics, Roy was one of the anthology arcs. It was really good seeing him in a more grounded scenario; struggling as a single dad trying to start a new life in a new city. Yes, he’s a little bit of a fragboy, but there’s plenty of them out there in real life, and it doesn’t automatically make them disrespectful or sexist. He’s not Lobo. He’s not even Wally, for that matter, who was not just a bit sleazy, but also did not take rejection well. I’m not a big Wally fan, but he does express a lot of growth throughout New Earth with his relationship with Linda, but also his empathy when reflecting on women in his past.

I’m saving up for the Peter David Aquaman and Young Justice omnibuses. I’ve only read the start of his Supergirl series and really liked it. Looking forward to see how the others hold up.
