Blackest Night
I liked it too. Question: how exactly did traveling two seconds into the future prevent Hal Jordan and Barry Allen from becoming Black Lanterns?
Mccue - The Black Lantern Ring needed an emotional hook in order to exist, possibly from the time the ring was created. When the rings were coming for Hal and Barry (both had been dead), they likely had always been coming for them specifically.
So moving 2 seconds into the future meant that, for 2 seconds, they did not exist. Thereby - no emotional hook for the rings and *pwoof*.
With the trillions of all that had ever died in the universe, the amount of bureaucracy necessary on the part of Nekron to keep track of the dead that ever entered the Land of the Unliving, must be immence. If two rings suddenly disappeared, in a cast of trillions, no one would notice.
Think of the Question #37. When Renee Montoya mediated and becomes One with Nothingness or whatever, the BLC Vic Sage loses his motivation. Or in the Black Ring in 890’s Action Comics (a really good series, by the way) , LexLuthor cannot find a Black Ring because there never was one cast for him. Even after he “dies” in 894 (spoilers) there’s no ring for him - because Blackest Night is over and all the rings are burried in Mogo, IIRC.
In Speed Metal, unlike Luthor, Batman has acquired a ring and wears it to control his dead army, but he has been dead, (Lazarus pit, yada, yada) and therefore there was a ring for cast for him and he can wear it.
Ah.
One of the best in DC
Fantastic should be a live action movie 🎥 ❤️
Please no, that's just going to disappoint.
Please yes
Don't listen to other people opinion just decide for yourself
The budget would be through the roof with all the actors and Lantern Ring effects. Not to mention a lot of zombie make-up an even more digital enhancements.
And no shared movieverse will have enough meaningful and named corpses to make it work story-wise. The DCEU already suffered from too many characters, this would crank that up to eleven.
A live action movie, or even an animated movie, would not do the storyline justice.
Bruh, did not pinged me. The best Comic story of all time in my opinion, it made my childhood. I liked how because characters were revived they were used as a way to psychologically torture the living, and any character can just die and turn into one of them, making it more scarier, and more desperate for the survivors. For example, they gave lantern rings to certain characters, scarecrow becoming a yellow lantern and lex luthor becoming an orange lantern, but it's not only them that makes the characters particularly great, each side story explored almost every character and kept in check with lore and worldbuilding, like how the alternative Superman from Earth-1 or 2, was there currently and became a Black Lantern, you think they would ignore that, but they didn't, they knew each and every villain who died. One of my favourite side stories is when the Black Adam Kid became a Black Lantern, yet he was himself, not corrupted or used as a disguise, however the Black Lanterns work, and he was struggling with his best friend, the Egyptian crocodile man, as he was under the influence of being a Black Lantern, so you could see how friendships are affected, cannot handle the new situation they are in. I've collected basically all of it, but recently learned that I am missing some, including the superboy prime story and the booster gold and blue beetle special, out of every event or franchise, I would willingly try to get every detail about Blackest Night and Black Lantern lore overall.
I freaking loved it. The shock of how characters were killed and converted was shocking. The ramifications after was shocking.
Aquaman trying to summon aquatic life only to summon the dead sea life shocked me.
What do you think?
