It isn't moot since i asked the same questions on diff wikis for them to yield results, opinions and generate discussion
Discussions on how pointless and subjective the post was?
Say that to the other wikis that aren't restrictive in what content people post
Every wiki has their own restrictions. Guarantee your discussion wasn’t in a form of a poll on the Marvel board, huh? Why is that?
Questioning something isn’t restrictive, that is inviting discussion. Please continue to explain why the poll wasn’t moot and how it was justified in isolated context here and/or with examples from other boards.
Yeah, well cause they didn't allow polls and a post were just fine. Also my reason is that i think that it's useful cause it might not be the most general question but a question that would be fun and interesting to answer, to get everyone's views and opinions on whats more important when it comes to fighting, it also an post based on logic which might work well.
Deleting nonsensical posts is like this forums least ridiculous rule. I don’t see how your post promoted anything but confusion and discussion as to how it made sense. Not trying to be rude or anything, it’s just nothing you’ve really said on or about the post makes sense.
The number one problem with discussing fights at surface level when regarding comics is that it is very much not a case of logic. It is pure fantasy. There are no real facts in comics because different writers make up whatever they want. “Feats” mean nothing, even in context sometimes, because more often than not “context” requires out-of-universe understanding that it’s all just fantasy. I know some people love to argue about fantasy fights, but the truth is “in-universe” has to always be taken with a grain of salt because every writer adheres to their own universal laws they establish. There are no fixed rules in comics. It’s just something you eventually understand and, for me, it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment but enhances it, because you can shut off you brain and just go with what’s on the page. Enjoy the story (or conflict) independently in is own individual context.
^^I mean, it partially can make sense. Because even though combat is entertaining to visualize, it’s utterly subjective because the writers can write a character to be as skilled in combat as they want. And battles tend to differentiate quite a lot, too. It’s really anyone’s guess to which specific character will be the victor, really.
It can be intriguing to contradict fights, but in the end, all elements in combat are equally important. It really depends on the circumstances, though.
But it’s best to follow the rules or else we’ll end up being fools. 🤷‍♂️
What do you think?
