Seriously though, how does Roy struggle? He arguably gets the most attention out of all Olivers sidekicks… I’d say Garth and Donna struggle the most out of the first few Titans and that the majority of the JLs sidekicks struggle to have significance outside of Wally, Roy, Barbara and the male Robins.

I say that about Roy because I think becoming Arsenal basically saved Speedy from total irrelevance, and even at that he’s never carried his own book (like Connor Hawke has done). I don’t read Titans titles so I can’t say what’s the latest, but just browsing the racks, Roy is perpetually just a face in the crowd.

And I say that about Cassie because while Donna’s continuity is a mess, she is a fine WG and the addition of Cassie to the mythos adds nothing for me. I’ll pick up more Yara Flor before I’ll buy a book because Cassie is in it.

I can understand that. Outside of Young Justice Cassie really doesn’t have any good writing, ever. Which is kind of irrelevant now that Tim is LGBT, and I never liked her and Conners shipping. Although I do like the Megan x Conner shipping from the tv series. That can all be fixed though if DC writers ever fix the Titans and Young Justice rosters and stop making the older members move onto older teams. You know.. like how the Young Justice series works where most the older members stick around and help older teams simultaneously. We’d get way more use out of most the pre-existing Titans and YJ members that way.

I don’t have strong feelings about Titans or YJ ( a couple of members, yes, but not the teams). Seems to me there’s a basic conflict between keeping the older members around as you suggest, and making a team of sidekicks and youngsters. Which choice are more readers hungry for?

They could always keep the first few generations of Titans as members and have Young Justice start as Tims era and have them grow into Titans and make Damians era the modern Young Justice. Plus that would work for if they ever want to write Carrie, Helena, Tiffany or any other younger Batgirls/Robins into the PE Batfamily and give them a team of their own. I see no reason to have Titans outgrow the team, and this includes Donna, Garth, Wally and Victor.. who seem to be written out the most frequently. I’ve basically always just considered Young Justice another name for a Titans team anyways. I guess what I’m saying is Titans and Young Justice writing tends to get overcomplicated across continuities over the past two dozen years or so.

So the question is, who’s most mid? Is that what "fairly rated" means?
