John Ostrander and Kim Yale made him into a very compelling character in their Suicide Squad book and his solo, he's flawed and sick but still somehow just cool. No other writers have gotten him quite as well, but he's almost always intetesting whether he's written "right" or not.

Marshall Rogers' redesign for him is a great balance between menace and comicbook-iness, too.

Yeah, seems accurate. He’s cool. He would be like DC’s second best mercenary under Deathstroke.
