Say what you will about Batman: Arkham Origins and Superman Returns but at least those games give you control over the titular heroes instead of forcing you to play as characters you don't like for the sake of story progression.
Also, I find it funny and sad that, even after all these years, Superman Returns still remains as the best attempt to make a Superman game. That game may have delivered a shaky foundation on how to make a Superman game, but it's still a foundation.
