What if it wasn’t tights, what if it was what he wore in the recent Superman film?

He wears trunks and tights in the recent film. The tights are heavier, and marred by stupid New 52 lines, which end up looking like padded panels, but they’re skin-tight and stretchy. I don’t see how short pants are an improvement. If anything, they look like he couldn’t find his trunks and had to improvise. Mixing street clothes and custom items like his boots and cape would border on the comical.

What if he had a costume that was made out of materials like the shorts?

I think he’d look like the superhero from Target instead of Krypton.

They don’t, of course. Nobody who can fly and lift skyscrapers is going to dress off the discount rack.

I probably would if I were a superhero. At least for my prototype suit.
