For the Armageddon storyline, Waverider showed a potential reality where something very similar to Injustice played out.
This Superman was married to Lois but Intergang nuked Metropolis, killing millions including Lois and all of his closest friends, to cope with the loss Clark married Lana Lang.
He still become pretty unhinged but he still had his no kill rule and wasn't nearly as psychotic as Injustice, he simply wanted to get rid of nukes.

@DaxNovu the thing about injustice superman that people forget is that it took him much more then just the jokers genocide for him to really lose it. Early on, he genuinely is well intentioned and is only doing what he does for the sake of peace, aside from the joker he even generally maintains his no-kill rule. But the camels back progressively gets heavier and heavier, Wonder Woman pushes him towards darkness, Darkseid forces him to mass kill the parademons to save innocent lives, his parents get captured, bruce is cold to him and captures hawkgirl, he has to stop Auqaman from his invasion on earth, Diana pressures him to kill Martian Manhunter in self defense.
There is a very long and extreme pipeline that leads him to what he becomes, that’s why I’m not convinced by alternative stories where something bad happens to him but he maintains his integrity.
"It's okay for this character to act out of character, this other character who was also written out of character egged him on!"
Injustice Superman to me was always unstable, it's shown that even during his childhood he had anger issues such as the time he destroyed Pa kent's truck over a tantrum.
Superman of the main timeline usually has some meta-narrative explanations that allows him to never go berserk.
In the Emperor Joker storyline Joker obtained nigh-omnipotence and tortured Batman and Superman for decades, Superman witnessed Lois apparent death and how he ruled the entire planet killing billions, but he still held back not wanting to kill the Joker.
Injustice is one of the most senseless stories ever written. 95% of characters act like new characters wearing the skin of the ones we know and it's obvious that the writers have never read a comic in their lives. I still remember Superman taking Sinestro's ring as if Sinestro was some kid. The same Sinestro that was capable of defeating Mongul, the same Sinestro that has a plan for everything... like I said, senseless.
@Tupka217 Obviously Injustice Superman acts differently from Regular Superman since he experienced such an extreme tragedy. He went from the extreme high of just finding out he was going to have a child, to the extreme low of causing his wife, unborn child, and city to be destroyed. Superman is a good person but he still feels emotions, he's still flawed. You can't pretend like it's realistic for someone who experienced that to act the same as he did before, it's going to make him a different person.
Tbh a lot of the other characters do feel out of character in this story. At least with Diana they gave her an alternate backstory to explain it. But the story really isn't about them, so I think it's ok to bend them a bit for plot reasons.
@DaxNovu It's kind of unfair to say that someone is always unstable because they threw a temper tantrum when they were five. Pretty much anyone would probably have one moment like that if they had superpowers when they were a toddler or something. In all of the flashbacks we see of him, he seems pretty indistinguishable from regular superman, he even lets some robbers off the hook and devotes a long time to helping this one kid with his bike.
Emperor Joker feels to cartoony and unserious to be an accurate examination of Supermans character. But most of the time when something really bad happens, he does at least feel some temptation to act violently, so it's at least plausible that he would do something like this given how extreme it was.
@Potash666 So yeah, everyone acts out of character. Injustice isn't a story. It's just window dressing for a beat em up game that got out of hand.
Just to Annoy you Superman is possibly turning good in the Injustice universe
@Jordan isle is he? I saw he did at the end of the movie
What do you think?
