Who's Shazam? That's clearly Superman and Captain Marvel.

I call him Shazam

The person I call Captain Marvel, belongs to Marvel.

If a story calls him Shazam, then I call him Shazam. If a story calls him Captain Marvel, I call him Captain Marvel. Not that complicated tbh.

When I watched this episode as a kid, I really disliked it for painting Superman in a bad light; but when I rewatched it as an adult, I understood what the episode was trying to say. Superman is too focused on global threats and is losing touch with the regular people he is supposed to protect.

That said, the episode is way too sympathetic to Captain Marvel because he never finds out Luthor and Waller were behind his fight with Superman. He is supposed to have the Wisdom of Solomon but doesn't actually use it. Even DCEU Shazam was better than this.

Yeah, absolutely agreed. The purpose of that episode was that Luthor manipulated Superman into looking like a real jerk, and that was really only possible because Kal walked right into it... by acting like a jerk.

I've said before that JLU season 1 is both a phenomenal show, and also kind of like, Superman and Batman are NOT going to live up to their best possible selves all of the time.

Same for Wonder Woman and Flash as well
