Welcome to a new Speedster Review! Today I'll be reviewing Batman (2011-2016) Vol 1. This all is based on my opinion so please don't be pissed off if I say something that you don't agree with. So let's begin:
Batman: The Court of Owls
This story is very ambitious. Snyder tries to introduce a new "villian" to the Batman mythos, which apparently existed all along (although we didn't get a conformation if they existed in New Earth), and I'd say he succeded in it. The Court of Owls are a nice addition to Batman's Rogues Gallery. Although I'd say that the story here isn't nearly as good as Night of Owls. I really enjoied it but it didn't give the epic vibe that Night of Owls gives me. The issues in the maze and the one/two before were nice, but I liked the first few way more. It's also not a complete story which only feels completed if you read (the in my opinion much better) the Sequel Night of owls. The inclusion of Dick Grayson in the whole owls mythos was great in my opinion. Also the story with little Bruce searching for the owls was pretty good. The art from Greg Capullo is astonishing and Snyder and Capullo have the perfect writer-artist dynamic
I'd give it a 7/10, because this only gets better if you read Night of Owls and that's also what is dragging it behind it didn't feel like a complete story (it doesn't mean to be one either) so yeah it's a good read but "only a Prequel" to a great story.
