The All-New Crime Syndicate?

Shouldn't the characters in Crime Syndicate #1 be entirely new characters since the multiverse was rebooted in Dark Nights: Death Metal #7? I'm a bit behind on the Death Metal event, so I could be mistaken, but I don't think that I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, could someone please explain why?
