Dark Nights: Death Metal

Why are New Earth & Prime Earth characters separated as different continuities when storylines, writers, and the big names at DC comics have all said that "everything is canon. And modern storylines where the editor's note calls back to pre-Flashpoint stories as if you are supposed to know that New Earth and Prime Earth are the same continuity. Even when it has been mentioned in recent years that Barry Allen (Prime Earth) was the first person to travel between Earth-One and Earth-Two, where even Earth-One would be considered canon to New Earth and Prime Earth. There has ONLY been support backing-up Earth-One, New Earth, and Prime Earth as one continuity. So, I'm basically saying: why can't anyone edit and weave in the continuities as one like it has been mentioned to be several times. Even with characters who reference the pre and post-flashpoint, act as if there was an amnesiac state or ignore it and reference all the pre-flashpoint stories all the time. (yes, I know it would take forever to do, and I apologize if it seems like I'm saying it's easy to do. It's not. And I would happily help with doing so..). And also, I'm pretty sure Geoff Johns' statement with Wally West back in Rebirth has been disregarded/retconned years ago. But, if you cannot do this, can we be given a thorough answer to this in the comments, please. Also, please be respectful and civilized about this. Thank You.

Characters such as the Robins and others have their pre-flashpoint designs in fix.

Huntress remembers the events of No Man's Land in 1999 during Detective Comics #1050 in 2021.

The History of the DC Universe releases in coming months, and I believe bringing Earth-One, New Earth & Prime Earth continuities merge as one Prime Earth continuity, the way the head editors/writers intend for their readers to remember that "everything matters".

I'll give y'all My actual thoughts on the Batman Who Laughs Because he's been a Top Wiki Page for a few years now. he's my favorite villain besides Joker. No question about it. He really is the twisted version of Batman. Who would've thought that DC would make a storyline so great with twisted versions of Batman? Not to mention The BWL was able to obtain God-like power. Metal and Death Metal is by far my favorite events from this generation to feature the Trinity. How can you not Love it with the Art and the writing? I like both universes but Tbh I think DC Events are more better and interesting than Marvel events No cap 🤷🏽‍♂️🫡💯🗣️

Shouldn't the characters in Crime Syndicate #1 be entirely new characters since the multiverse was rebooted in Dark Nights: Death Metal #7? I'm a bit behind on the Death Metal event, so I could be mistaken, but I don't think that I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, could someone please explain why?

I have not read that event and I don't intend to; but I keep hearing weird things... It sounds like Snyder is trying to channel Morrison, but he doesn't know how or when to stop...

It also sounds like Snyder is a Batgod fanboy who mistakenly thinks the fanfiction he wrote when he was twelve was a good story.

I want to go on ignoring this event, but sadly and annoyingly, it sounds like DNDM will change and affect the whole DCU. I know I have little interest in the modern DCU, but at least I would like knowing what is happening to the DCU and how it will affect my favorite characters.

Can someone give me a summary, please?
