Lantern Corps

I mean this as sort of a recognition of his capabilities from the Corps themselves, not in a reboot erase his history sort of way. You know, to evolve his story. His daughter Jade got to be a member in the mainstream continuity, New Earth at least, why shouldn’t he? Personally I’d love to see Alan Scott and Jade recognized as legitimate GLC members.

Blackest Night

This isn't strictly about any of the main Lanterns we've come to know (just about all the corps period), but what are good series to read if I want more varied Lantern Corps adventures that don't just focus on the main Lanterns (Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Sinestro) themselves? I ask because "Green Lantern: The Animated Series" made me a bit more curious as to how that part of the cosmos functions

I’m just curious on which hero that resides from space or is heavily associated with space happens to be your favorite? Mine is Mister Miracle. He has a good design, awesome power in my opinion, and his backstory of him and Orion being traded between The Highfather and Darkseid is quite compelling to me.

I recommend this feature at Comic Book Revolution - quantitative analysis of actual retailer orders. There’s a ton of material for discussion here - top sellers, events, franchises, minority leads, female leads, and more - but I want to start with what they call “dead titles walking” - the books that fail to make the top 100, and are selling fewer than 18,000 copies per month. Top line conclusions:

DC had 27 out of their 61 December 2023 titles, or 44%, in this group.

In November ’23, the figure was 32/56, or 57%.

In December ’22, it was 26/53, or 49%.

In December’21, it was 23/43, or 54%.

In other words, around half of DC’s new books last month are in cancellation territory, and that’s an improvement. The list includes a major event (Beast World), female leads (Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Hawkgirl, Power Girl), Blue Beetle, John Stewart, two JSA minis, and Outsiders, tanking after two issues with ten to go.

Granted, almost ⅔ of these titles are one-shots or minis, but even those are Dawn of DC launches or events. Take those out, and you still have eleven ongoing books (including Outsiders) selling in cancellation territory:

Personally, I’m reading only one of these books (and two minis), and it’s out of character loyalty - GL War Journal, Jay Garrick, and Alan Scott are indeed terrible. But the list also includes Bat- and Titans-adjacent titles, and stuff that was supposed to be an exciting new start.

What is DC thinking, that half their line is not finding an audience? Theories welcome.

Are there any rules that must apply to a character or like principles & regulations a Character must follow before they can join one of the 10 Lantern Corps

What if the Red Lantern Corps wear mostly black with red?

My Uncle who had beaten Covid-19, and was in high relative spirits recently, has just passed away this afternoon.

I didn't know until I got from my mom that my Uncle died, and I was busy having an afternoon snooze, so I was unaware of the sad news until recently.

I have just one question for DC Fans, in order to try and take my mind of this sad news, and try to cheer up the best way possible.

Why didn't the Black Lantern Corps and the White Lantern Corps have a New Guardian?*

* (since Mera is Red Lantern, Lex Luthor is Orange Lantern, Johnathan Crane/Scarecrow is Yellow Lantern, Ganthet is Green Lantern, Barry Allen is Blue Lantern, Ray Palmer/The Atom is Indigo Lantern, and Wonder Woman is Violet Lantern in New Guardians)

I want to learn more about the Lanterns. Can someone explain me the difference between the different colours? And another question from me is why does the Lantern Corps page say in the quote at the top “7 Lanterns will be born“? But aren‘t there the Black Lanterns too?

How different is being a Gold Lantern from being a Green Lantern?

I just read the Legion of Super-Heroes / Justice League issue and it didn't reveal any details about Gold Lantern capabilities that would allow me to discern. I have encountered the character before in the Bendis LOSH title. But rather than the color, I couldn't differentiate what makes the Gold Ring unique.

Did I miss something?
