I remember watching reruns of the original Teen Titans series, age seven, sat in my cousin's bedroom with him. It was a Thanksgiving tradition by that point, while the men watched football, we watched Teen Titans. Aside from the killer theme song, the show was addicting and I started watching it at home through my cable provider. Yes, I'm old enough to have watched cable. That aside, my dad pulled me aside when I turned nine and said, "Son, there's something you need to see." He got out a VCR tape, selected Episode Three from the menu and on came Heart of Ice. I vividly remember being bored throughout the episode. That obviously changed when I got older.
When I gradually moved on from the animated series, I was about twelve. At that time, Man of Steel was released. I patiently waited for Batman vs. Superman, then for Suicide Squad, and so on. It was definitely hit or miss, but such is the art of cinema.
My first comic was actually DC Universe Presents Vol 1 9. It was a fun and brief introduction to the characters of Vandal and Kassidy Savage.
